The Design Element

Collage style design continues to be rather popular. It seems that it is a nice alternative to the shiny polished trend. It has a totally different set of connotations and makes for a fun style. As with any design style it should be used with care and applied in situations where it makes sense. Look through a few of these sites and I think you will understand what I mean. They have a fun light hearted feel to them. The mood of the site is established by this dominating style which ultimately controls much of the design. I have yet to make a design in this way but it sure looks like a fun style to use.

Do you think that some of these designers actually made these collages by hand, then scanned them? Or do you think they were begun on the computer or a combination of both?

I imagine it is a combination of scans and stuff assembled on the computer.
