The Design Element

One of the biggest challenges with any event oriented web site is getting time and a budget. Since events come to an end of course their web sites are always viewed as temporary. It must be good enough to sell the event, but not so grand that it breaks the bank, or even worse, never gets finished. At it's most basic level the event web site is there to inform the visitors of the details regarding it and everything they will need to know if they are attending. Secondly is sales I presume. Some would probably reverse these two, but I think sales is secondary. By informing visitors of the details you are effectively selling them on it.

I agree about time constraints. We did the Basingstoke Live website you have profile and had less than two months. The bizarre thing is the traffic is just starting up and the event has just finished.

The key for this type of event is to focus on keeping interest all year long.
