The Design Element

Green is such a popular color, it is in fact the first section of Design Meltdown to get a second edition. Something I planned for from the beginning but had yet to do. With so many subjects it is hard to get back to one that has already been covered. But, in honor of St. Patrick's day, I couldn't resist doing something green.

Green is one of those colors that somehow manages to offer a wide variety of usage and overall feel. By that I mean that it seems to be a really flexible color. You can get a lime green that really pops, a deep green like a cozy forest, or a grayish green that feels really subdued. It is a fresh and lively color and this perhaps accounts for the main reason it is used so widely. Take a look at the abundance of samples and see how green has been put to use!

Connotations of green: Nature, environment, money, wealth, family, harmony, health, peace, posterity, soothing, relaxing, springtime, youth, humor, fun, happiness, life, growth, jealousy, envy, novice, restful, calming, balance, stability, summer, organic, recycled, plants, trees, fertility, fresh, good luck, and vigor.

Lovely! I've always liked that Grove design, extremely peaceful. Green is one of my favourite colors so thanks for such a varied look at it's uses, much appreciated, I've Scrapbooked more than a few of these for future reference :)

By the way I love the way "Visited" now appears on any example links you click. Is that a variation of the Lighbox.js script or something else entirely?
