The Design Element
Well green was the first category to get a second edition, and now it will
be the first to get a third. I find it really remarkable that one color is
used so much more then the others. It is a tremendously popular color. Is
it the neutral nature of the color? The associations to nature and non-computer
things that we love? What is it about this color that demands such usage.
Yellow is an equally subtle color, why is it that you hardly see any designs
completely based on it? I have been collecting yellow sites for a while and
still don't have enough for one article. What ever it is, there is
no shortage of green sites.
Connotations of green: Nature, environment, money, wealth,
family, harmony, health, peace, posterity, soothing, relaxing, springtime,
youth, humor, fun, happiness, life, growth, jealousy, envy, novice, restful,
calming, balance, stability, summer, organic, recycled, plants, trees,
fertility, fresh, good luck, and vigor.
