The Site Type

When I purchased my home I had to deal with many sites related to real estate, I quickly realized how terrible most of them were. I found it odd that their sites were so lame and yet they were pushing the most expensive item most people will ever buy. Consider how few people purchase a Porsche, and yet they have a wonderful web site. Real estate can easily exceed the price of such a car. So how is it that an industry far larger, with far more revenue, has such a terrible web presence. In fact, the web stands to be real estates greatest tool. When shopping for my house I used the internet and found every single house we wanted to look at, our agent did next to nothing. Why don't the real estate companies embrace the web and use it to their advantage?

The sample sites below are all real estate related and are beautifully done. They manage to break the cheap, spamish feeling, real estate mentality.

The title in your RSS feed is "Real Estate Sites that Sell", and while I agree that the sites are gorgeous compared to the regular real estate site I come acrossed, do you have any real proof that the site causes the realtor to make more money?

well it isnīt exactly a scientific study or anything, more of a catchy title. But I do know that site design does have an impact and things like ease of use can certainly lead to better sales

well for the younger generation of college graduates who will be buying houses in the years to come the first thing i look at is a web site and if it crappy I wouldnīt bother to contact the agency. A web site is part of being professional.
