Design Meltdown Job Board

1st edition — by Patrick McNeil — Feb. 20, 2007

I am pleased to announce the Design Metldown Job Board is now live! Up until now Design Meltdown has been focused on inspiration and providing people with the resources to make things happen. One of the most inspiring things can actually be a new job! I know when I started working for TargetScope my level of energy and excitement about my job was certainly elevated.

Employers, if your looking to reach designers and developers who primarily work on the web this is a perfect fit! Not to mention that by using this coupon code you can post your job for free! Design Metldown reaches over 100,000 people a month providing a large base of people to advertise your job to.

Coupon Code: iamfree

The board has two main sections: Freelance and Full Time employment. Pretty self explanatory really!

Personally I think that small job boards with a really tight focus are the wave of the future. Sure, monster.com reaches ten gazilion people; but a board such as this one reaches a lot of people really focused on a certain topic. For those interested the board is based on the service provided by Job Coin.

Perhaps a Job Seekers section would also be useful? For those looking for a new position.

Hey, Patrick,

First off, I think the jbo boardīs great. I wish you the best of luck with it.

I just wanted to let you know though, that Iīve seen a huge increase of spam mail today to the address I used to create a job listing with. I have no way at all of knowing if itīs related or just a coincidence, but I thought Iīd let you know, should you want to do something to protect those email addresses in case someone is scraping. :)

Kelli, it hardly seems like they could find your email and spam you that fast, but I suppose anything is possible. I will certainly follow up with job coin to see if there is any way to improve that because that is a potentially bad thing for sure.

It seemed kind of fast to me, too, but I rarely post that address anywhere, so it was a little odd. Like I said, could be totally unrelated, just wanted to mention it. thanks for looking into it. :)
